CCJ 361 - Juvenile Delinquency

Analyzes the statistics, trends, characteristics, and causes of juvenile delinquency. Discusses biological, psychological, and sociological theories. Examines the relationships between juvenile delinquency and the socialization process, family environment, and social structure. Introduces the theories of delinquency, social influences on delinquency, the history of the juvenile justice system, and prevention models. Approved for University Studies (Integration - Strand J). Grading option designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Prerequisite(s): CCJ 230 or CCJ 231.
