CCJ 413 - Law of Criminal Procedures 4 credits Examines the balance between individual and societal rights. Explores the limitations of governmental actions as provided by state and federal constitutions, statutes, and case law with regard to criminal investigations (search, seizure, confessions, and interrogations), pretrial procedures (plea bargaining, grand juries, and preliminary hearings), and trial procedures (right to counsel, juries, bail, and appellate procedures). Grading option designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Restricted to Juniors and above. Prerequisite(s): CCJ 230 , CCJ 231 , CCJ 241 , CCJ 251 , CCJ 298 , CCJ 300 .
