Systematic assessment of metabolism, including major oxidative and biosynthetic pathways. Includes aspects of enzyme mechanisms and kinetics, metabolic regulation, derivation of metabolic energy, and metabolic defects as they relate to the basis of disease. Three lectures. Grading option designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Restricted to Juniors and above. Prerequisite(s): CH 451.
