CS 562 - Database Administration


4 credits
Examines the tasks involved in administering a large and complex database management system (DBMS). Teaches hands-on techniques for installing, setting up, and maintaining a production database. Students use a popular DBMS (e.g., Oracle) to understand the concepts of managing structures, logs, data files, and users. Also prepares students to take the appropriate database administration (DBA) certification exams. Grading option designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Must be eligible to take Graduate level coursework. Prerequisite(s): CS 360 .
