HST 315 - Ancient Greece 4 credits Examines ancient Greece from the Minoans and Mycenaeans through the death of Alexander the Great in 323 b.c.e. Topics include Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations, the so-called “Dark Ages,” archaic Greece, the emergence of the poleis, the Persian Wars, the rise of Athens, the Peloponnesian War, and Alexander the Great. Features economic, social, political, and intellectual developments. Grading option designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
Restricted to Junior standing and above. Prerequisite(s): Completion of Social Sciences and Humanities Explorations courses
