MUS 444 - Jazz Theory

Introduction to jazz harmony, including chord symbols, chord voicing practices, analysis, reharmonization practices, scale choices for improvisation, and creation of bass lines. May not be offered every academic year. Grading option designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Restricted to Junior standing and above. Prerequisite(s): MUS 223, MUS 226, and completion of piano proficiencies.
