MUS 543 - Composition Survey 3 credits Develops various compositional techniques by composing short, focused works and listening, discussing, and analyzing music. Techniques are discovered by listening and analyzing music from diverse traditions such as Gregorian chant to Noh Drama, from Gamelan to minimalist, from Bach to Cage, and from India to Africa. Grading option is designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Must be eligible to take Graduate level coursework. Prerequisite(s): MUS 223 , MUS 226 , and completion of piano proficiencies
