MUS 544 - Jazz Theory

Introduction to jazz harmony, including chord symbols, chord voicing practices, analysis, reharmonization practices, scale choices for improvisation, and creation of bass lines. May not be offered every academic year. Grading option is designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Must be eligible to take Graduate level coursework. Prerequisite(s): Admission into the Master of Music program or by instructor permission.
