Studies static electricity and magnetism. Topics include Coulomb’s law, electric field, Gauss’ law, the scalar potential, electrostatic energy, and interactions with matter. Grading option is designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Must be eligible to take Graduate level coursework. Prerequisite(s): PH 223 and PH 371
