The Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting is for students with a baccalaureate degree who wish to complete coursework to prepare to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or work in accounting.
This certificate is unique in that it is reserved for candidates who already possess a bachelor’s degree or are working towards one concurrently. Students pursuing the BA in Accounting cannot also get this certificate. The program does not require any graduate coursework, nor does it result in a degree being conferred. If being completed concurrently, the certificate will not be issued until the bachelor’s degree is completed and all certificate requirements are met.
To be admitted to the program, students must:
- hold a baccalaureate degree;
- be admitted to SOU; and
- have completed Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting (BA 211 , 213 )
Students who do not meet all of the requirements before applying, will be admitted upon completion of the above.
Students must have their transcripts reviewed for admission to the Certificate in Accounting program. Applications for admission must be accompanied by proper documentation, including transcripts of all college credits.
See the SOU School of Business Brochure for this Certificate.
