The Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Music degree provides the groundwork in musical arts without a specialization. The curriculum equips students with a foundation in creativity, music theory, aural training, music culture, individual music coaching, and a cooperative ensemble performing experience. The BA/BS in Music allows a student the opportunity for exploration of other academic disciplines or a concentration within the Music program.

Requirements for the BA or BS in Music
All BA/BS majors must: 1.
Fulfill baccalaureate degree requirements. 2.
Pass all sequential music theory and aural skills courses with a grade of C or better to continue. 3.
All music majors taking applied lessons (MUP 190-490) are required to perform before a jury at the end of fall-spring terms. 4.
Maintain a 2.75 GPA in music courses. Upper Division Music Elective
At least 3 credits from any 300/400 level MUP or MUS class. |
