Interdisciplinary Culture Core

(16 credits, at least 8 upper division)

SOAN 213 - Cultural Anthropology: Perspectives on Humanity 4 credits
COMM 200 - Communication Across Cultures 4 credits
COMM 203 - Media Literacy 4 credits
0-8 credits of two advisor-approved upper division courses in fields related to French. May include the following if these courses are not used to satisfy other French major requirements.
FR 350 - Topics in French Film 4 credits *

FR 450 - Topics in French Film 4 credits *
FR 428 - Topics in French Culture 3-4 credits *
Approved upper division non-departmental courses as approved by advisor (0-8 credits)

International Internship

(Minimum 8 credits/ten weeks of full-time work)*

FR 408 - International Internship 1 to 12 credits *
*Students who are unable to complete an international work internship in a French-speaking country are required to complete an additional 12 credits of elective courses, and the FR 409 community-based work experience for 4 credits.

Capstone

(4 credits)

FR 490 - Research and Writing Capstone 2 to 4 credits

Note

At least 16 credits of the major must be completed on the Ashland campus, 12 credits of which must be in courses at the 400-level not including the capstone project and the practical work experience.
