HE 253 - Chinese Medicine: Five Elements 2 credits Introduces five phase symbology (five element theory) from traditional Oriental medicine, as described in the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Chinese Medicine (Huang Di Nei Jing) and Dr. Dianne Connolly’s work based on the Worseley School in England. Explores the principles of five phase zymology in diagnosis of disease, treatment modality choices (acupuncture, herbal prescription, massage), and self-care choices, including diet therapy, exercise, and lifestyle modification. Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
