MUS 543 - Composition Survey


3 credits
Develops various compositional techniques by composing short, focused works and listening, discussing, and analyzing music. Techniques are discovered by listening and analyzing music from diverse traditions such as Gregorian chant to Noh Drama, from Gamelan to minimalist, from Bach to Cage, and from India to Africa. Prerequisite(s): Admission into the Master of Music program or by instructor permission.
