SOAN 544 - Organizational Sociology 4 credits Analyzes theory and research on formal organizations in contemporary societies. Examines sources and forms of power and authority, management ideologies, organizational cultures, bureaucratic structures and processes, organizational change, relationships between organizations and other aspects of social structure. Particular attention given to special characteristics of nonprofit organizations and alternatives to bureaucracy.
