SOAN 380 - Methods in Linguistic Anthropology 4 credits Advanced examination of language structure, use, and ideology, with a focus on research methods and disciplinary norms. Addresses formulating a research proposal, selecting and using suitable methodologies, analyzing and interpreting data, and assessing and addressing ethical concerns. Students will design and execute two original field research projects. May be applied to the International Studies major and minor. May be applied to the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies minor. Prerequisite(s): SOAN 214 or ENG 214 or ANTH 214.
