SOC 333 - Global Culture, Media, and Politics 4 credits Explores transnational media and culture with emphasis on audiovisual media, the Internet, and globalization processes. Issues include the rise of consumer society; globalization and the production of popular culture; commodification; and the production and reproduction of identity, stereotypes, and power relations. Approved for University Studies (Synthesis/Integration).Prerequisite(s): SOC 204 and completion of all lower division University Studies requirements.
