Offers an interdisciplinary analysis of political, economic, and social developments in the third world, with particular emphasis on the environment and women. Includes theories of modernization, dependence, and the postcolonial state as they apply to economic development, poverty, and political mobilization.Prerequisite(s): SOC 204.
