HST 460 - Grand Strategy

Explores, using the format of a reading seminar, the history of grand strategy. Students analyze strategies pursued by dynastic realms, nation states, transnational organizations and corporations from the early modern era to the present. Emphasizes changes in strategic thinking over time; the relationship between strategy, politics, and modes of dispute resolution; and the relationship between technological change and strategy.
