PS 460 - Grand Strategy

Explores, using the format of a reading seminar, the history of grand strategy. Students analyze strategies pursued by dynastic realms, nation states, transnational organizations and corporations from the early modern era to the present. Emphasizes changes in strategic thinking over time; the relationship between strategy, politics, and modes of dispute resolution; and the relationship between technological change and strategy. Grading option designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule. Prerequisite(s): Upper division standing required.
