BI 386 - Forest Ecology and Management 3 credits Introduces the principles of forestry, including the biology of forest ecosystems and the management of these landscapes for societal benefits. Topics include biodiversity, logging practices, fire suppression, sustainable forest management, forest economics, ecological principles, and biogeochemical cycles. Two 75-minute meetings and two weekend field trips. Does not fulfill biology major or minor requirements. Approved for University Studies (Integration - Strand H). Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
