JPN 203 - Intermediate Japanese Language and Culture III 4 credits Enables students to reach at least intermediate low language proficiency; to compare cultural ideas; and to analyze issues, problems, and practices of the native and target language groups. Students are required to communicate in Japanese on topics ranging from everyday life, family, and work to political, economic, and social questions affecting culture. Materials include literary and cultural texts, audiotapes, videotapes, films, art, and performances. Continues work with Japanese characters. Closed to native speakers of Japanese. Approved for University Studies (Explorations Strand E-Humanities). Prerequisite(s): JPN 202 Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
