SOAN 333 - Global Culture, Media, and Politics 4 credits Explores digital and audiovisual media, the Internet, and globalization processes. Issues include the rise of consumer society; the popular culture industry; and the production and reproduction of identity, stereotypes, and power relations. Approved for University Studies (Integration - Strand J). Prerequisite(s): SOAN 204 or SOC 204, or SOAN 213 or ANTH 213, sophomore standing and completion of all lower division University Studies requirements. * This course was formerly offered under a different number; students who took the following course(s) will not receive additional credit unless otherwise noted: SOC 333.
