This course focuses on sculptural experimentation and skill-development for those with at least one term of sculpture experience. Students are asked to find innovative ways to respond to conceptual and idea based prompts with creative problem solving. Materials and facilities range from the woodshop, metalshop, plastershop, wax area and foundry; to using found objects sourced through community partnerships; to conceptual, time-based, and performance art. Students are asked to actively engage with themselves, their reality and our built environment. Students repeating ART 391 are encouraged to use this course in an increasingly self directed manner with support from peers, TA’s and professors. Repeatable for a maximum of 24 credits. Prerequisite(s): ART 291 .
