BI 425 - Molecular Biology 4 credits Surveys current topics in modern molecular biology and biotechnology, including gene expression and regulation, protein interaction, genomics, and signal transduction. Emphasizes laboratory experience, Including PCR-based techniques, cloning and sequencing of genes, mutation characterization, and interpretation of sequence data using bioinformatics databases and tools. Three lectures and one 3-hour laboratory. Prerequisite(s): BI 341 ; CH 331 or CH 334 . Junior standing or above. Corequisite(s): BI 425L . Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term.
