ED 493 - Observation and Evaluation of Teaching 4 credits This course provides an opportunity for future teacher candidates to observe contemporary trends in education and analyze teaching and learning theories as applied in the schools. Students investigate developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and engaging teaching strategies and apply these to their teaching approaches to practice and become catalysts for transformative education. Students will design creative lessons in various passion areas by aligning with their elements and finding the courage to teach and reflect through self-awareness and assessment. In addition, students will conduct research/literature reviews on their scholarship interests to prepare for their future senior capstone project. This course is a prerequisite to ED 409A and ED 409B Capstone courses. Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or above. Graded (A-F) only.
