ES 451 - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems

Explores uses of computer-based geographic information systems (GIS) for analyzing environmental features and feature-related data. Desktop GIS is employed for data storage, geographic data analysis, and map design. Covers applications in forestry, planning, resource management, and demography. Four hours of lecture and one three-hour lab. Prerequisite(s): ES 349  or ES 215 . Corequisite(s): ES 451L .
