MTH 111Z - Precalculus I: Functions 4 credits A course primarily designed for students preparing for trigonometry or calculus. This course focuses on functions and their properties, including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, piecewise-defined, and inverse functions. These topics will be explored symbolically, numerically, and graphically in real-life applications and interpreted in context. This course emphasizes skill building, problem solving, modeling, reasoning, communication, connections with other disciplines, and the appropriate use of present-day technology. Prerequisite(s): MTH 95 or appropriate SOU placement level. Approved for General Education: Numerical Literacy Capacity, University Studies - D Strand * This course was formerly offered under a different number; students who took the following course(s) will not receive additional credit unless the course is stated to be repeatable in the description above: MTH 111 Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term.
