MUS 223 - Music Theory 6 2 credits Music Theory 6 completes the six-course sequence and builds on concepts and skills mastered in Music Theory 5. Students will analyze music of the late nineteenth, Twentieth, and Twenty-first centuries, which will include examples of Modern styles including but not limited to Impressionism, Expressionism, Atonalism, Serialism, Post-tonalism, Minimalism, Neo-Classical & Romanticism, and Aleatory. contemporary practices in examples of both historical and styles of music. Students will apply harmonic concepts at the keyboard. Prerequisite(s): MUS 222 . Restricted to BA/BS Music majors, Music Industry & Production majors, and/or students earning the Certificate in Music Theory & History. Corequisite(s): MUS 226 Graded (A-F) only
