SOAN 311 - Sustainable Communities 4 credits Explores the complexities of community and sustainability. Focuses on concepts, theories, and case studies of community, community change, sustainability, and development. Students will analyze cultural, political, environmental, and economic influences on communities and how these influences shape possibilities for sustainability in communities. Includes an overview of community-based action, advocacy, and social change. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing. Approved for General Education: University Studies - I Strand * This course was formerly offered under a different number; students who took the following course(s) will not receive additional credit unless the course is stated to be repeatable in the description above: SOC 310.
