SOAN 310A - Latinx in Oregon 4 credits This course explores social, cultural, and political questions in contemporary Latinx communities in Oregon, including recent histories, and highlights Latinx contributions to Oregon. Students will analyze contemporary issues and histories related to social movements, immigration, citizenship, nation, and race and ethnicity. The course draws on anthropology, sociology, history and related disciplines. Approved for International Studies major and minor and Ethnic and Racial Studies minor. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing and WR 123 or equivalent. Approved for General Education: Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Capacity, University Studies - J Strand Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
