Lower-division courses

8 credits from lower-division classes in literature, grammar, writing, or rhetoric

• At least 4 credits must be from lower-division literature courses (ENG 104 , ENG 105 , ENG 201 , ENG 202 , ENG 208  (and ENG 208A, B, etc.), ENG 209  (and ENG 209A, B, etc.), ENG 239 , ENG 240 , ENG 245 ) 
• 4 credits may be from any of the following creative writing courses: CW 220 , CW 230 , CW 281 , CW 282  

Core Course

• ENG 301 - Introduction to Literary Analysis and Theory 4 credits (must earn a C- or better)

Electives

• 20 credits of upper-division (300- or 400-level) ENG courses.
