MTH 361 - Statistical Methods I 4 credits Covers the probability theory and estimation of parameters. Topics include laws of probability, principles of counting, probability distributions of discrete and continuous random variables, mean and variances, functions of random variables, multivariate probability distributions and moment generating functions for random samples, and estimation of parameters including mean squared error and maximum likelihood estimation. Prerequisite(s): STAT 243Z or SOAN 327 , and MTH 252 are required. Approved for General Education: Numerical Literacy Capacity, University Studies - H Strand Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
