WR 100 - Transition to College Writing 4 credits Serves as a transition course for university-level writing. Introduces learners to university writing expectations and to the skills needed for academic success. Learners focus on communication skills (both written and oral), thinking skills, and research skills applied in both small group discussions and written assignments. Designed to strengthen learners’ skills and proficiencies and build confidence. Learners experience many opportunities to practice skills and to receive feedback in preparation for the work to be accomplished in the Purposeful Learning, Seminar sequence of courses (WR 121Z , WR 122Z , and WR 123 ). WR 100 is an optional course.
Students self-select into WR 100. Repeatable for a maximum of 8 credits. C- or P grade is required for successful completion. Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
